We built one family of chunky patterns in three colours, so each product looks different but the whole shelf clearly belongs to the same shop.
Forty products, one family
Tin & Tub has served the same street for thirty years. The yoghurt is famous. The labels were made on a home printer whenever a new product turned up.
The problem
Nothing on the shelf matched. Regulars knew what to grab, but new customers walked straight past the best yoghurt in the neighbourhood.
The process
We gave every product the same three ingredients.
A pattern each. Every product gets its own chunky pattern, so you can find the peach yoghurt without your glasses.
Three colours. Green, purple and orange, mixed differently on every pack.
Big, friendly names. The product name sits on top, in letters you can read from the till.
The result
The new range filled the shelves in a week, and customers started photographing the yoghurt tubs.
The tins still sell out first.
Meanwhile, the billboards went quiet overnight...
Meanwhile, at the corner shop on our street...
